Epsom Salts

Epsom Salts

Magnesium sulfate

Named after a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England, this product is not actually a salt but a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate

Studies have shown that magnesium and sulfate are both readily absorbed through the skin.  Magnesium plays a number of roles in the body such as reducing inflammation, helping muscle and nerve function and regulating the activity of over 325 enzymes.  Sulfates help improve the absorption of nutrients and flush out toxins

Regularly used by a growing number of models and actresses, Epsom Salts are a popular natural choice for skin exfoliation

Celebrity skincare guru, Ole Henriksen, says you should exfoliate before going out in the sun to increase your circulation, facilitating the elimination of toxins that may be trapped under the skin.  He also says that exfoliation leaves the skin luminous, smooth and soft in texture, and it removes excess dead skin allowing for better absorption and easier application of lotion

Epsom Salts are becoming popular in Floatation Therapy tanks because of their reputed ability to induce a sense of relaxation and because their therapeutic benefits are readily absorbed into the skin
